Spacediving at ESA in Cologne, Germany

Recently, I visited the European Space Admini- stration's Neutral Buoyancy Facility in Cologne, Germany.

In the 10 meter deep training pool there's a mock-up of the Columbus module from the International Space Station (ISS), as well as a MIR airlock.

This
great experience was a good opportunity to shoot some interesting and unusual images.

The reason for the visit was to participate in a photo workshop held by renowned german photographer Eckhard Krumpholz.

He was joined by Rene Aumann from Nikon Germany to give us the odds and ends of shooting images for magazines.

We were five participants, and had an exiting day diving in the astronaut training pool and learning more about photography and what kind of images are needed for magazine articles.

At the ESA Neutral Buoyancy Facility astronauts train for spacewalks to be performed during their visits to the International Space Station.

The images to the right were chosen by Eckhard and Rene for the "images of the day" slideshow at the end of the workshop.

The images were presented to those who were diving at the Neutral Buoyancy Facility that day, doubling as models for our workshop.

I was there - how do I get hold of a couple images?
