New housing - Nauticam D300s

Finally, my new baby has arrived... I have invested in a brand new Nauticam housing for the Nikon D300s, and I can't wait to get it in the water.

Nauticam produces some of the hottest and most talked-about underwater housings in the world these days, and all the hubbub is not entirely without reason.

The housings are extremely compact, exquisitely made and offers ergonomics and a range of functions I think no other housing can match at the moment.

It will be a thrill to get it in the water sometime soon!

Norwegian dealer Aquaphoto writes:

Nikon’s D300s is the new flagship in the company’s DX-format range. It inherits the 12.3 effective megapixel CMOS sensor; Rapid 7 fps continuous shooting; large, bright 100% frame coverage viewfinder. It also boasts a great new feature, the 720P HD movie mode after that of the existing D90 and D5000.

Nauticam NA-D300s housing for the D300s is machined from robust aluminum alloy with hard anodized surface treatment. The thickness of the coating allow the housing to perform in the toughest shooting conditions.

The ergonomically masterful design of Nauticam housings has been well recognized. Through a set of inspiring gear, all the most used functions on the NA-D300s housing can be easily accessed without moving either hand from the grips. Even the video function can be easily triggered through the side lever on the rear case of the housing.

The unique easy locking port release system has been the most talked-about feature ever since the launch of the first housing.

Strobes can be triggered using either 5 pin bulkhead or Nauticam's high quality optical fibers. There are two types of connectors for Nauticam optical fibers to use with Inon S-TTL strobe and Sea&Sea DS-TTL strobes.

You probably understand why I'm excited!

I'll keep you all posted on the progress with the new housing, 8,5" dome port and all the other accessories. I also purchased the new Nauticam viewfinder, from which I expect small miracles.

Paired with my trusty Inon Z-240 strobes this makes a powerful package, promising plenty of great underwater images in the time to come.
