Underwater banners at Tjuvholmen

Tjuvholmen, Oslo's developing new beachfront city district, has now been made more interesting and beautiful by putting up banners with my underwater images!

Just outside Oslo's famous restaurant and shopping district Aker Brygge, a whole new area is being developed.

Named "Tjuvholmen", the area will offer luxury appartments, expensive office space and more restaurants and shops in what possibly is the most attractive seafront area in the city.

A marketing agency recently bought six of my images to use them for banners on special lightpoles spread around the newly opened 1. and 2. stage of the project.

This is how two of the banners look in real life (updated in March, 2012):

Not all images will be on display at the same time - the different banners are meant for different times of the year, making this a revolving exhibtion of my images in one of Oslo's most visited areas.

These are the oringinal images used for the banners:

The developers have already had their mind on things under water, as they in November 2009 unveiled an artificial reef structure to attract marine life to help keep the water clean.

The reef is made up of several kinds of concrete structures placed on the seabed, as well as hundreds of ropes for mussels to grow on.

This is how Tjuvholmen will look when it's finished in a couple years:

Stage 1 and 2 are already open; stage 3 and 4 (the right part) is under construction. In the streets you can see my banners, and the artificial reef is located underneath stage 3 and 4.

The database contains 13 images of the artificial reef.
