Gulen story in Duiken

The Dutch dive magazine Duiken is running my Gulen story as the main feature in their June 2012 issue, which is already on the street. Feast your eyes on this beautiful eleven-page spread!

Posted on May 28, 2012

The story about diving at Gulen Dive Resort on the Norwegian west coast is the main feature in the summer issue.

They spent 11 pages on the story and did a great job with the layout. I really like the result and I hope their readers will appreciate both the story and the images.

Duiken also used one of my images on the cover (right) of this issue.

Stone crabs are just one of many little treats found at the house reef of Gulen Dive Resort. Depending on the time of year, you will find millions of nudibranchs, cute bobtail squid, lots of crustaceans and a teeming fishlife.

This is what Duiken wrote about the story in the teaser for the June issue:

War history meets marine biology, the deep-sea meets the kelp forest and the giant meets the almost microscopic" - which pretty much sums it up.

Duiken has been published monthly since 1989 and is the most read dive magazine in Holland and Belgium with an estimated readership of approxmately 45.000.

In addtition to subscribers and over-the-counter sales, Duiken also reach 8.000 newsletter subscribers and over 5.000 divers through social media every month.

Great diving in Norway

The story covers both the spectacular wreck diving as well as the amazing marine life in the Gulen area on the Norwegian west coast, just south of the famous Sognefjord.

I am happy that the Dutch audience get a chance to learn more about diving in Norway. The Netherlands is not far away and I hope more Dutch and Belgian divers will show up at the resort doorstep - and when they do, they're in for a treat!
