Dykking 2013 Calendar

Norwegian dive magazine Dykking has just published their 2013 calendar, and to my great pleasure they have used no less than three of my images this time around - one of them is even on the cover.

Posted on Dec 30, 2012

The calendar is issued once a year with the December issue of the magazine, and features top notch underwater photographers from Norway and other countries.

Dykking chose my image showing dive buddy Tore Lien on a scooter dive at Sveggvika Dive Resort for the cover of the 2013 calendar.

In addition, two more images were used for the months of February and May:

The pool image was awarded a silver medal in the 2010 Nordic Underwater Photography Championship, while the wreck image shows KNM Kjell, a Norwegian torpedo boat.

KNM Kjell was built for the Norwegian navy in 1912, and was seized by the Germans shortly after they invaded Norway in April, 1940.

After being converted into a minesweeper she was sunk by British aircraft on September 28,1944 off the coast of southern Norway. If you want to dive KNM Kjell, please get in touch with Skagerrak Feriesenter.

Second calendar cover

I did not have any images in the 2012 edition of the calendar, but in 2011 I also had three images featured - the cover, January and December.

Previously, I have had images featured in the calendars of German dive magazine Unterwasser (2006 and 2008), the Norwegian Diving Federation (2008) and in Natur&Foto, a Norwegian wildlife photography magazine (2010).

Published since 1983

Dykking is published six times a year and has a circulation of approximately 6.000. The calendar is free for all subscribers, but can also be purchased separately.

The magazine has been published since 1983 and is currently the only dive publication in Norway and one of the longest-running magazines in Europe.
