2012: 15 covers and 41 stories

2012 has been a fantastic year for ScubaPixel. A total of 41 stories has been published around the world, accompanied by a staggering 15 magazine covers. And now it's time to take one step further...

Posted on Dec 30, 2012

It is extremely satisfying to look back at 2012 and see that my stories has been publised on almost all continents in the last 12 months.

Readers in countries as far away as China, Mexico, USA and Russia has been able to read about my diving adventures and see my underwater images.

In addition, I have had several stories published in international dive magazines like Dive the World, Scuba Diver TTL, X-Ray Magazine and DIVE Magazine, which took a giant stride and went all digital in 2012.

Norwegian nudibranchs and how to photograph them was printed on an 8-page spread in Scuba Diver TTL.

I fear that Norwegian and Scandinavian readers might soon have had enough of my scribbeling - there has been a total of 15 stories on print in the last 12 months.

And that is just the dive press... there has been numerous stories in local newspapers and other magazines, too.

It is especially my story about diving at Gulen Dive Resort on the Norwegian west coast that has been widely published. No less than 10 countries has seen this story print in 2012, in addition to a handful of early birds in 2011.

My first story on print in the UK was in DIVE Magazine, featuring Gulen Dive Resort.

I can only hope that 2013 will be equally kind to me - there are still lots of magazines where I have not had anything on print yet.

The great leap

In 2013 I will take a great leap in more senses that one: I will be starting my own business and try to do this for a living. That is, I will not be doing just stories for magazines - even the success of 2012 would not have been enough to pay the bills.

My sory about the wreck of Jan Hubert was on print in the Danish magazine Sportsdykkeren in October 2012.

In addition, I will do more workshops and lectures, appearances, underwater photo shoots, dive/photo trips and even webdesign and translations. In short, whatever it takes to keep the wheels turning!
