Brazil, Azores and Cape Verde

I'm currently in the process of buffing up the Scubapixel database, and have added a bunch of topside images from the Atlantic Ocean. Not what you expected? Enjoy them anyway - they're a part of dive travel.

Since I started my own company I have to try and offer as much as I can to potential customers. This includes making some changes to the Scubapixel website, which in the future will have more topside images than previously.

Topside images are an integral part of writing articles for dive magazines, and since this is an important part of my work... there you go. Enjoy!

Cape Verde, Brazil and the Azores

The scorpionfish Scorpaena brasiliensis is a quite common sight in waters off South Amerca - and the colors of this little bauty is just astonishing.

I have gone through hundreds if not thousands of images from my trips over the last few years, and have added about 120 images to the database today.

Not all of them are dive related - but they tell a story and will give you and future dive magazine article readers a better overview of what a given destination has to offer.

The Azores offers not only great diving, but also a very different world topside. The food, people and culture is well worth a trip by itself - but don't forget your divegear!

One of the places that astonished me the most was the remote islands of the Azores. Located in the middle of the atlantic, these tiny specs of land offer a unique culture and experiences well beyond what you can get almost anywhere else.

I didn't get to dive much during my visit, but what I saw was wild, rocky and adventurous - moray eels, octopus and even the promise of mantas and whalesharks.

Sandy beaches, palm trees and tropical temperatures - in the Atlantic? You need to visit the Cape Verde islands, man!

The Cape Verde islands offer a spectacular blend of tropical and temperate water species, and divers from the northern parts of the Atlantic are bound to see some species they recoqnize - as well as a myriad of new ones.
