Team victory and 4th place in Visions

Team Norway excelled in the Unterwasser Visions photo contest in April 2013: With images placing 1st and 4th we did well individually - and also claimed victory in the team competition.

Lill Haugen claimed the victory this month with a beautiful manta image which according to the jury was absolutely spot on for this month's theme - the Big Blue.

My rather old image of a school of schooling bannerfish (what a coincidence!) finished just off the podium in a respectable 4th place.

The image was shot in at Gordon Reef outside Sharm el Sheikh way back in 2003 with my trusty Olympus C5050-Zoom:

This image of schooling bannerfish was awarded a 4th place in Unterwasser Visions in April 2013, and contributed to a great team result.

This is what the jury had to say about my effort (translated from German):

You can't do it better. We're swarming over this school in clear, blue water - and the photographer-friendly formation".

A long way to go...

Team Norway has not been doing too well in Unterwasser Visions this year, and a team victory was much appreciated.

With two images placing in the Top 10 we got 30 points collectively, and beat runners-up Germany with 8 points. Always finishing strong, the Spanish team had to settle for 3rd this month.

Overall, Team Norway is currently in 5th place and we have our work cut out for us if we're to end up on the podium in November.

Team Norway 2013 consists of Lasse Iversen, Lill Haugen, Bjørnar Nygård and myself.
