Database breaches 3.800 images

The ScubaPixel database now contains over 3.800 underwater, travel and diving related images from around the world. The upgraded search function makes it easy to find what you want!

Posted on Oct 15, 2013

The database contains mainly underwater images, all the way back to when I started shooting back in 2003. Since then, I have steadily added images from my trips in Norway and around the world.

When you search the database, you'll find images of wrecks, coral reefs, fish, nudibranchs, people, diveboats, crustaceans, echinoderms, scuba divers and much more.

All you have to do is type your wish in the search field and see what you come up with! The images are tagged with location, dive centre, date, scientific names (including family, class, order and phylum), behaviour etc.

Upgraded search function

When you click one of the thumbnails in the found set of images, you get to see the image and the image data. On this page you may flip back and fourth within the search result using the arrows located on top of the page.

The image pages also contain a link to take you back to the search result - you don't have to type the search criteria over again!

To search the database, please click the Images tab at the top of the page, or simply use the convenient link at the bottom.

Shortcuts and systematic list

If you're having trouble finding what you want, use the search shortcuts found below the search field. This menu also contains a thematic and a systematic search list.

Remember that you can easily combine different search criteria, like 'fish' and 'caribbean' for instance - or almost any other combination you can think of!
