Norwegian Wrecks? Go South and West!

German dive magazine Tauchen is running my story about six great Norwegian wreck dives in their May 2014 issue - three on the south coast and three at the mouth of the Sognefjord on the west coast.

Posted on Apr 25, 2014

Norway is one of the best areas in the world when it comes to diving WWII wrecks. The coast is littered with wrecks - but the distances between the best areas may be great.

On an 8-page spread, German dive magazine Tauchen present wreck diving in two of the best areas Norway has to offer, and offers advice for a unique wreck trip by combining them by means of ferry from Hirtshals in Denmark.

A total of seven wrecks are covered in this story. Please click the images to see more and get an idea about how great wreck diving in Norway can be!

Dive resorts operating in these areas are Gulen Dive Resort just north of Bergen on the west coast, and Norway-Team Frank in Trysnes west of Kristiansand.

Biggest in Europe

Tauchen is Europe's biggest dive magazine with a printed circulation of 37.000, and has been published 12 times a year since 1978.

According to media data available on the home page of the publisher Top Jahr Verlag the readership of Tauchen is esimated to be an impressive 400.000.

Unrelated news: Tauchen also used one of my images on the cover of this issue (right).
