The Nudibranch Safari boasts an impressive line-up of internationally acclaimed speakers. Check out the experts that will be giving lectures at Gulen Dive Resort in March 2015. Posted on Nov 30, 2013 The Nudibranch Safaris held at Gulen Dive Resort on the Norwegian west coast in March 2014 will be hosted by some of the leading experts in the field. Please look below the presentations to see who will be attending which events. With Alex on the team, participants on the first safari will not only learn more about nudibranchs, but they will also have a great opportunity to improve their underwater photography skills. Bernard Picton is the author of the authoritative A Field Guide to the Nudibranchs of the British Isles, as well as numerous other papers and publications on nudibranchs and marine biology. He has also described his very own species - the Doto hystrix. A keen contributor to SeaSlugForum and other nudibranch forums on Facebook, he is well-known among nudibranch fans around the globe. He will not only co-host the first safari together with Alex Mustard - he will also be there for the second safari. Jussi Evertsen is currently a research fellow at Trondhjem Biological Station owned by the Department of Biology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology where he is researching the photosynthetic functionality in kleptoplastic sacoglossans. Jussi and Torkild take part in the Nudibranch Safari for the fifth time, and will co-host the second safari together with Bernard Picton. Since 1997 he has been running the above mentioned Nudibranch Project together with Jussi Evertsen. In 2011, Dr. Martynov published a comprehensive book about Russian opisthobranch together with his wife, underwater photographer Tanya Korshunova.
He has written several articles about photographing nudibranchs, and is also a marine biology instructor with the Norwegian Diving Federation (NDF). He has run several marine biology and underwater photography workshops over the years. Here's an overview of which events the experts will be attending.
